Indian Electricity Rules (IER 1956) repealed with Central Electricity Authority Regulations (CEA) and they were titled as ‘The Central Electricity Authority (Measures Related to Safety and Electrical Supply) Regulations, 2023 (CEA2023)
As per CEA Regulations 31(1), All Electrical works to be carried out through Licensed Electrical Contractor Only, except replacement of Lamps, fans of voltage Limit not exceeding 250Volts.
Regulation3(1) calls for Designation of persons to execute specified Tasks-(Supervisor permit, Wire Man permit Holders), as their Name recorded in a Register Regulation3(2), Regulation 3(3) specifies no person shall be designated unless he has certificate of competency. Regulation5 calls for Electrical Safety Officer (if Installation is more than 250KW and Registered under Fact. Act). Every Year The Periodical Inspection fees along with ‘Form-C’ to be submitted to Electrical Inspectorate
